You can work remotely, grow a business… and still have time to stay close with family.
In this weekly vlog Keri, our three kids, and I are taking you on the road with us to visit Keri’s family in Oregon.
Lockdown hasn’t just been disrupting business — it’s also been disrupting plans to travel and visit our family. This trip is overdue and we’re excited to be able to celebrate Keri’s brother’s 30th birthday!
Come along on the road with us as we:
- Travel with three young ones (this involves bribes)
- Conduct business as usual and create content while traveling (this has some surprising advantages over being in the office)
- Maintain physical training on the road
- Get lots of quality time with family
Remote work and telecommuting may turn out to be a more common part of life for knowledge workers as a result of lockdowns. Growing a business doesn’t have to mean sacrificing family time! I hope this episode gives you ideas for how you can design your life to be portable, fun, and professional.
Because after all, having the freedom to spend quality time with family and friends is one of the biggest reasons why many of us work so hard in the first place. It takes intentional planning, but with good systems and top-notch team members it’s entirely possible to grow your business while still being there to see your kids grow up.
Are you planning to continue remote work as lockdown lifts? Have you thought about ways to use it to your advantage? Let me know in the comments.
