Keri and I are currently in Florida. We’re usually on the road 3-4 months a year — speaking at events, attending events, and learning from business leaders. Thanks to well-built systems and great team members, we can run our business at the highest level no matter where in the world we are.
When this vlog was filmed, Florida had begun to reopen almost all of its counties — except for ours. So Keri and I drove to an open county for the first real date night in a very long time.
While on the road, I continue to train. Why do I do that right now? There are no planned Ironman triathlons right now, and I have no specific event that I’m preparing for.
But still I train.
It’s natural to think “What am I doing this for? I should be using this time to put out more content or do more training with clients and agents.” But I need to push myself physically; it’s something I still need in my life right now.
The question now is: How hard can I push myself when there is no event on the horizon? Maybe my next event won’t even be an Ironman; maybe it’ll be another ultramarathon. But whatever and whenever the next race is, I don’t want to lose momentum in the meantime. I’m going to continue to challenge myself physically, enjoy the physical benefits, enjoy the mental benefits, and focus on how to become the best version of myself.
With all that is going on in the world now, I think all of us could benefit from spending time improving ourselves so that we can better our lives and the lives of the people around us.
What are YOU training for right now? What are YOU doing first as lockdown lifts in your area? Let me know in the comments.
