Lockdown has taken many things away from us, but here’s one thing it’s given us back:
No more long commutes, no time lost driving to appointments and meetings.
I’m committed to using these extra hours in ways that fuel my mind, body, and spirit.
Paddleboarding in particular represents so many things in life that I love. It reminds me of the first time I learned how to ski at a Tony Robbins conference years ago.
Day one was bumpy. I barely knew how to get my boots on. I spent more time falling than I did skiing. Day two: I was starting to put some turns together. By day three, I was up and running. I spent a lot of time on the ground, but I learned from it and discovered this thing that I love. Learning to paddleboard was like that too. Falling down is part of learning.
By the way, you don’t need to work 80 hours a week to fuel an amazing life. You’ve got to find a sustainable balance. You need time for your business, bettering your financial situation, and generating the income that fuels an amazing life… but don’t overdo it at the cost of your physical and mental health.
Another thing that I love about being out here on the paddle board is that it reminds me of so many business situations. Every day I come out here and go around this island. But every day the waves are different, the currents are different, the wind is different. I’m constantly needing to adjust. Isn’t business like that, especially now?
